God has placed you here on earth to be a solution! You are a solution to people's problems

Genesis 41:25-35

25 Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, “The dreams of Pharaoh are one; God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do. 26 The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good ears are seven years; the dreams are one. 27 The seven lean and ugly cows that came up after them are seven years, and the seven empty ears blighted by the east wind are also seven years of famine. 28 It is as I told Pharaoh; God has shown to Pharaoh what he is about to do. 29 There will come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt, 30 but after them there will arise seven years of famine, and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt. The famine will consume the land, 31 and the plenty will be unknown in the land by reason of the famine that will follow, for it will be very severe. 32 And the doubling of Pharaoh's dream means that the thing is fixed by God, and God will shortly bring it about. 33 Now therefore let Pharaoh select a discerning and wise man, and set him over the land of Egypt. 34 Let Pharaoh proceed to appoint overseers over the land and take one-fifth of the produce of the land[b] of Egypt during the seven plentiful years. 35 And let them gather all the food of these good years that are coming and store up grain under the authority of Pharaoh for food in the cities, and let them keep it. 36 That food shall be a reserve for the land against the seven years of famine that are to occur in the land of Egypt, so that the land may not perish through the famine.”

In this story, a father left 17 camels as assests for his three sons. When the father passed away, his sons opened up the will.

The will of the father stated that the eldest son should get half of the camels,

the middle son should be given 1/3rd of 17 camels

and the youngest son should be given 1/9th of the 17 camels .

As it is not possible to divide 17 into half or by 3 or 17 by 9, the sons started to fight with each other.

So they decided to go to a wise man.

The wise man listened patiently to the will.

The wise man, after giving it a thought, brought one camel of his own and added it to 17.

That increased the total to 18 camels. Now, he started reading the deceased's will.

Half of 18=9

So he gave 9 camels to the eldest son.

1/3rd of 18=6

So he gave 6 camels to the middle son.

1/9th of 18=2

So he gave 2 camels to the youngest son.

Now add this up

9+6+2=17&

This leaves 1 camel, which the wise man took back.

MORAL: the attitude of negotiation and problem solving is to find the 18th camel I.e the common ground.

Once a person is able to find the common ground, the issue is resolved.

It is difficult at times however, to reach a solution, the first step is to believe that there is a solution.

If we think that there is no solution, we won't be able to reach any! The wise man became a solution to the battle of the 3 brothers.

God also has put in you an answer or a solution to somebody in pain. As you go out today, let God use you and you will never lack answers to your battle.
