Success secrets: lift and stretch out

God's plan for you is not just success but good success. Joshua 1:8 says.....

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success

That says it all. Having millions of Naira, Pounds, Rands, Dollars or Chinese yuan without peace or good health is not good success

The first step towards divine good success is to define what success is to you. Is it material acquisition? Spiritual acquisition? Riches? What kind of riches? Millionaire? Billionaire, or what?

For instance, if you want to be an educationist, what will be your area of specialization? Science, humanities, arts, etc.? Be specific! Having defined your goal, you must outline how to achieve it (planning).

After planning how to achieve your strong desire, the next stage is to execute it in line with the spirit and letter of the plan. This is the stage at which most people get it wrong, yet it is the most important stage.

This is because plans not executed are as good as failure. God told Moses at the bank of a terrible River Nile in Exodus 14:15-16...... Note “Lift thou up thy rod and stretch". Learn to lift and stretch out.

Execute any goal you have been postponing for days or years. No more carry overs. An over conscious person burns bridges before he or she gets to them. "Safety first has been the saying of the race....but never the motor of winners" (John Mason)

There is a difference between success and good success. Someone once said a successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend!

Oh! What a fallacy! To leave a permanent meaning of success in you, consider this:

To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty and to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition, to know even one life has breathed easier because you lived; this is success.

Did you notice that no mention is made of money or material gain of life in the above definition of success? You can be a millionaire and still be a failure. Also you can be a success even without being rich in cash.

Success is possessing happiness and projecting it to the have-nots. It is bringing sunshine to where there is darkness, bringing joy to where there is sorrow, bringing water to where there is thirst! Yes it is supplying food to where there is hunger.

God's plan and definition of success is never the same for any two people, families or ministers. True wealth is not measured in money, status or power. It is measured in the legacy we live behind for those we love and those we inspired!

Arise from self-pity, success is contentment, achieving little or much and leaving a legacy!
