What is fear? Fear is defined as false evidence appearing real.

It was mary Morrissey who said

“you can block your dream when you allow your fears to grow bigger than your faith”

at times in life, you have everything necessary to achieve success, we have taken all the necessary steps, we  have done everything but still it fails to come.

At that point in time we have to sit back and check one thing that we missed which is ourselves.

Yes we need to check ourselves and re-evaluate or faith in whatever we are doing. Most times we allow ourselves get in the way of our breakthrough.

We allow our fears stop us from achieving our dreams today,

we must put an end to it and we must know that we must fear nothing/nobody but God.

Marie curie said “nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood”.

The fear of the unknown and the fear of failing keeps most of us away from success. In order to achieve success, they are six most dangerous enemies we have to tackle they are

1. The fear of poverty

2. The fear of ill- health

3. The fear of death

4. The fear of loss of love

5. The fear of old age

6. The fear of criticism

The six fears are very deadly and as humans, we are plqgued by at least one of them.

It is left for you to figure out which one and attack it seriously before it overwhelms you and eventually kills your dreams.

You need to feed your faith and starve your fears to death.

In job 3:20-26, it says

Wherefore is light given to him that is in misery, and life unto the bitter in soul;  21 Which long for death, but it cometh not; and dig for it more than for hid treasures;  22 Which rejoice exceedingly, and are glad, when they can find the grave?  23 Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in?  24 for my sighing cometh before I eat, and my roarings are poured out like the waters.  25 for the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.  26 I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.

We see in the scripture above that what job feared came upon him; he started experiencing what he feared. This is what happens when you give fear a chance.

Joseph Campbell wrote “the cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek”.

In essence, he is saying that place you fear to go,

that dream you fear to pursue,

that step you fear to take holds the treasure,

the breakthrough that you have been searching for.

You must know how to prayerfully take decisions,

take risk and bolder actions that would move you forward.

Doubt is just as bad as fear, most times when we pray and God has given us the go ahead,

we still slag behind asking him question like

“God are sure?” , “will it work” God hates fear and doubt he said it in james1:6-8

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.  7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.  8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

It is just one life we have, start a new project, resign and get a new career,

obey God and go into ministry, make that marriage proposal, travel if you can.

The wise man in the storm prays to God not for safety from danger but for deliverance from fear God said in Isaiah 41:13.

For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

Moses was afraid of confronting pharaoh but eventually he did

and today he is known as one of the greatest leaders of Israel.

To lead is difficult when you are a follower of fear. Hear this German proverb “fear makes the wolf bigger than he is”. If you fear God, you have nothing else to fear Psalm 61:5 says it all

For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.
